Marcelle Named ACC Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week

ATLANTA – Steve Marcelle was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Marcelle, a sophomore from Green Bay, Wis., set the school record as he posted an NCAA regional qualifying mark in the shot put with a mark of 60 feet, ½ inch to win the event at the Yellow Jacket Invitational this past weekend. He also tossed a personal-best mark of 168 feet, 1 inch in the discus as he finished third. It was his second-best mark of the season, throwing a personal-best 173 feet, 1 inch at the Wake Forest Open.

The Georgia Tech track and field teams will be competing at the Auburn Invitational this Saturday, April 7 in Auburn, Ala.
