Making the Grade: Spring 2015 Academics Report

Final grades are in and – once again – Georgia Tech student-athletes stepped up in the classroom, posting another solid semester in Spring 2015. For the first time, Georgia Tech student-athletes posted back-to-back terms with a 3.00 mean GPA (Fall 2014, Spring 2015).

Below are some of the highlights from Tech’s impressive Spring 2015 semester in the classroom:

  • 3.00 mean GPA for all student-athletes
  • 3.00 mean GPA for all freshmen student-athletes
  • 54% of student-athletes earned a 3.00 GPA or higher
  • 74% of student-athletes pursuing majors in business and engineering
  • 49% of male student-athletes pursuing majors in business
  • 31% of female student-athletes pursuing majors in engineering fields (compared to 28% of male student-athletes)
  • Baseball and softball recorded record team GPAs for Spring 2015
  • Six teams improved team GPA performance from Fall 2014 to Spring 2015
  • Nine of 13 Tech teams produced GPA over 3.0
  • 31 student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA
