Kurey, Woodard Advance to Back Draw Semis

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Sophomores Megan Kurey and Kendal Woodard defeated two ranked doubles teams to advance to the back draw semifinals at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships.

Kurey and Woodard, who are ranked #26 in the ITA preseason doubles poll, first faced #16 Mary Ann Daines and Erin Routliffe of Alabama in the first round of the consolation bracket. Kurey and Woodard recorded an 8-4 victory to advance.

The duo then faced #4 Hermon Brhane and Whitney Ritchie of Oklahoma. With the score tied at 7-7, Kurey and Woodard won the tie breaker, 7-2, to capture the win, 8-7, and move on to the semifinals.

The semifinals will take place tomorrow.
