THE FLATS — Two-time defending ACC Coastal Champion Georgia Tech baseball will kick off its fall ball action when it hosts Sun Belt foe Troy in the first of its two exhibitions at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will feature a predetermined 12-inning game between the Trojans and Yellow Jackets.
Troy finished one game above .500 in 2021, going 27-26 but finished 13-11 in Sun Belt Conference action and compiled a 19-9 record at home. UAB is looking to rebound after an 18-36 finish in 2021, including an 11-21 record in C-USA play.
Fans of all ages are invited to attend Mac Nease Baseball Park with admission being free to the public.
This fall will be Tech fans’ first chance to see the 2022 Yellow Jackets prior to the spring schedule. Georgia Tech returns a talented roster from last years’ division champions, including six of nine starters in the field and a stable of arms on the pitching staff.
This fall will also see the emergence of several young Yellow Jackets from Georgia Tech’s third-straight top 25 recruiting class that look to bolster an already deeply talented roster.
