THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech swimming & diving team will host a quad-meet featuring Duke, Indiana and Michigan on Saturday. The action at McAuley Aquatic Center will begin at 11 a.m. ET.
All three of Tech’s opponents have at least one of their teams ranked in the CSCAA Top 25 poll, and head coach Courtney Shealy Hart believes this caliber of competition will benefit the team.
“Any time you face elite-level squads such as Duke, Indiana and Michigan, you expect it to bring out the best in your athletes,” said Coach Hart. “We’re excited to be hosting three great teams that are ranked in the top-25 in the country. It will be a great chance for us to get back to competition as we head into our spring season. We’re looking forward to the next three weekends of racing and getting ready for championships. Please come out and cheer us on!”
The meet can be followed via live steam (http://buzz.gt/1KfJvoj, payment required). Live results will also be available (http://buzz.gt/1PMKlyf).
The Jackets will also be competing in exhibition platform diving at 5 p.m. Friday against Duke, Michigan and South Carolina. Results can be followed on DiveMeets.com.
For the second time in program history, Georgia Tech and the McAuley Aquatic Center will serve as the host site for the 2016 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The Women’s Championships will be held March 16-19, followed by the Men’s Championships March 23-26. Georgia Tech previously hosted the 2007 NCAA Championships and the CRC was also the site of the 1996 Summer Olympics swimming and diving competitions.
