@GTSwimDive Announces 2016 Signing Class

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech swimming & diving program has signed 18 high school athletes to national letters of intent. The 2016 class consists of swimmers and divers from seven states and two foreign countries, continuing the trend of national and international recruiting for the Jackets.

Kelli Croft
• Height: 5’7″
• Hometown: Marietta, Ga.
• High School: Lassiter High School
• Club Team: Stingrays Swimming
• Main Event: Distance Free
• Rank: 11th in Georgia
Coach Hart: “Kelli is one of the top distance freestylers in the state of Georgia. Kelli will add depth to our distance program, and we are excited to have the opportunity to see Kelli excel in the pool.”

Brennan Day
• Height: 5’11”
• Hometown: Evans, Ga.
• High School: Greenbrier High School
• Club Team: Aiken-Augusta Swim League
• Main Events: Long Distance Free, IM
• Rank: 6th in Georgia
Coach Hart: “Brennan is a top in-state talent in distance freestyle and IM. We are looking forward to seeing Brennan move up the ranks at the conference and national level.”

Carly Doi

Emily Dykstra

Coach Hart: “Emily is a rising star out of North Carolina. In addition to adding depth to our individual freestyle events, Emily will look to contribute to our freestyle relays.”

Kristen Hepler

Coach Hart: “Kristen will make an immediate impact on our program in the breastroke and IM. She is a hard worker who will push people in practice and competition.”

Clay Hering

• Rank: 7th in North Carolina

Emily Ilgenfritz

Coach Hart: “Emily will make a strong impact from the start in freestyle and butterfly out of Pennsylvania. We anticipate that Emily will score at the conference level, and we are excited about the potential of her making NCAAs.”

Joonas Koski

Caroline Lee

Coach Hart: “She’ll come out of Virginia as one of our top backstrokers and flyers. Cary will be one of the top incoming freshmen in backstroke in recent women’s program history. She will be a big contributor in dual meets and at the conference level.”

Chloe Miller

Coach Hart: “Chloe is a great butterflyer, who will help our women’s team both individually and on relays at all levels.”

Maddie Oliver

Aiden Pastel

Rodrigo Correia Quadros

Lindsay Wallace
• Height: 5’6″

• High School: Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School
• Club Team: Aiken-Augusta Swim League
• Main Events: Sprint & Mid-Distance Frees, Back
• Rank: 8th in Georgia

Austin Whalen

Abbey Yates

Coach Hart: “We are happy to welcome Oskar to Georgia Tech. He has the ability to influence our men’s program at the conference and national level.”

For the second time in program history, Georgia Tech and the McAuley Aquatic Center will serve as the host site for the 2016 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The Women’s Championships will be held March 16-19, followed by the Men’s Championships March 23-26. Georgia Tech previously hosted the 2007 NCAA Championships and the CRC was also the site of the 1996 Summer Olympics swimming and diving competitions.
