ATLANTA (AP) Charles Mitchell had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, but Georgia Tech dropped a nail-biter to Syracuse, 46-45.
Rakeem Christmas scored 18 points and hit the go-ahead free throw with 12 seconds remaining to help Syracuse seal the victory.
Georgia Tech’s Chris Bolden missed a 3-point attempt with 2 seconds left and Quinton Stephens missed a putback opportunity under the basket as the buzzer sounded.
Both teams struggled from the field. Georgia Tech shot 26% from the floor while Syracuse managed to hit 35% of their shots.

Georgia Tech hopes to bounce back when they visit Wake Forest on Saturday.
