>> Tech and Presbyterian are meeting for the first time since the Yellow Jackets swept a three-game series in Atlanta in 2009. All-time, the Jackets lead the series 5-2. The first three meetings in the series came between 1939-1942.

>> Senior A.J. Murray is on a late-season tear, with five of his 10 home runs and 11 of his 40 RBI coming over the last 12 games. Murray is tied for fourth in the ACC in homers, tied for seventh in doubles (14) and ninth in slugging percentage (.555). Junior Matt Gonzalez, who has started a team-best 109 straight games, brings a six-game hitting streak into the weekend. He’s hitting .384 (8-for-23) in the streak with a double, a homer and four RBI.

>> Tech enters the weekend No. 28 in the RPI and owns a strength of schedule ranked No. 7. Of Tech’s 26 wins, 15 have come versus teams 100 or better in the RPI. The Jackets’ RPI is fifth-best in the ACC behind Miami, FSU, Louisville and UNC.

>> Tech is outscoring opponents 65-31 over the final two innings plus extras. That includes a +26 margin in the eighth (40-14), +6 in the ninth (20-14) and +2 (5-3) in extra innings. 14 of Tech’s 26 wins are come-from-behind victories, including four when trailing in the eighth inning. Tech is 4-1 in walk-off games, and 3-1 in extra-inning games.

>> Sophomore C Arden Pabst is among the NCAA leaders in runners caught stealing and caught-stealing percentage. Pabst, who is on the watch list for the Johnny Bench Award, has thrown out 18 would-be base stealers this season, which are tied for ninth-most nationally. His caught-stealing percentage of .439 ranks 10th in the NCAA.

>> The Jackets have benefited from strong late-game work from sophomore righty Zac Ryan, who is 7-1 with seven saves. Ryan has logged a win or a save in 14 of his team-leading 22 pitching appearances. He is the only ACC pitcher with 7+ wins and 7+ saves, and is tied for the conference leads in wins and is fifth in saves.

>> Of Tech’s 384.2 innings pitched this season, 83 percent have come from freshmen or sophomores, which is the highest percentage of any team in the nation.

>> The Jackets continue to be one of the nation’s best defensive teams, currently ranked 11th in double plays (46), 41st in fielding percentage (.974) and own the fourth-most outfield assists nationally (13). Tech led the nation in both double plays (school record 77) and outfield assists last season. Since 2012, Tech’s 237 double players are second-most nationally.

>> Tech is 18-3 this season when scoring first; 9-3 in one-run games; 7-7 versus ranked team. Sophomore RHP Brandon Gold is 4-0 in series rubber-games — all coming in ACC victories over Notre Dame, Duke, Virginia Tech and Virginia.
