Greensboro, N.C. – James White’s 5-under-par67 led three Georgia Tech players shooting under-par rounds, and the Yellow Jackets shot a 9-under-par team score of 279 Sunday in a come-from-behind effort to win the UNCG Bridgestone Golf Collegiate.

Tech began the day four shots behind Michigan in the team race, but got the 67 from White, a 69 from Chesson Hadley, a 71 from Kyle Scott and a 72 from John-Tyler Griffin in surging to a 7-stroke victory over Virginia. Virginia shot 7-under 281 on the final day to complete 54 holes in 14-under-par 850. The Wolverines, the 36-hole leaders, shot 293 and fell back to third place at 11-under-par 853. Augusta State was fourth at 10-under 854, followed by Tennessee at 3-under 861 and North Carolina at even-par 864.

After a bogey at the par-5 fourth hole of the Forest Oaks Country Club, White went on a birdie binge, recording six in an eight-hole stretch between Nos. 6 and 13, and the sophomore from Acworth, Ga., went on to post his best round of the fall.
