ATLANTA–Georgia Tech quarterback George Godsey and offensive tackle Chris Brown won Atlantic Coast Conference weekly awards for their peformances in the Yellow Jackets’ 35-0 victory over Virginia.

Godsey was named ACC Offensive Back of the Week for the second straight game as he passed for 323 yards and two touchdowns against the Cavaliers. The junior from Tampa, Fla., completed 29 of 37 passes (78 percent), hitting 11 different receivers, including touchdown passes of 18 and 33 yards. He completed his first nine passes of the game to stake the Jackets to an early 21-0 lead. He has now thrown 103 consecutive passes without an interception.
Brown earned ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors for the second time this season. He was Georgia Tech’s top-peforming offensive lineman against the Cavaliers as he graded 90 percent with five domination blocks. The Tech offensive line did not allow a sack on 37 pass attempts and has allowed just two sacks over the last four games. Tailback Joe Burns, who rushed for 120 yards, scored both of his touchdowns over Brown’s left tackle spot on runs of 17 and three yards.

Godsey and Brown keyed a Tech offense that piled up a school-record 34 first downs and 627 yards of total offense against Virginia, the second-best figure in Tech history. The Jackets gained 323 yards in the air and 304 on the ground, the first time in school history that the Jackets have top 300 yards in both rushing and passing, while controlling the clock for almost 38 minutes on 94 offensive plays.
