Georgia Tech's Ulrike Stegemann Named ACC Volleyball Player of the Week

Georgia Tech’s Ulrike Stegemann was named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Yellow Jackets to come from behind wins at Florida State and Miami.

The Schwerin, Germany, recorded a career high 20 kills and hit a season-best .515 in leading Georgia Tech to a 3-2 victory over Florida State in Tallahassee on Friday. On Sunday afternoon, the sophomore helped the Yellow Jackets rally from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Miami in five games.

The opposite side hitter posted her second-consecutive 20-kill performance and hit a team-best .302.

On the week, Stegemann hit .395 with 4.0 kills per game and .50 blocks per game.

Georgia Tech is now 6-6 on the year with a 3-1 record in conference play and play host to Maryland Friday night in O’Keefe Gymnasium.
