Georgia Tech Track And Field Competes At Last Chance Invite

– Six members of the Georgia Tech track and field team are set to compete in the Last Chance Invite March 2 in hopes of qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships March 8-9 at the Randal Tyson Track in Fayetteville, Ark.

Five of the six Yellow Jackets scheduled to compete will do so at the Loftus Sports Center in South Bend, Ind., while pole vaulter Aaron Unterberger heads to Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.

Julienne McKee and Jonathan Gardner kick things off in South Bend in the women’s and men’s triple jumps at 11 a.m. Gardner won the event at the ACC Championships to earn All-ACC first team honors. ON the women’s side, McKee took fifth in the event.

Broderick Snoddy competes in the 60-meter trials at 11:20 a.m., and his second event the 200 meters at 2:20 p.m. Snoddy finished fifth and seventh in those events, respectively, at the ACC Championships last weekend.

Shawn Roberts, who took second in the 800 meters last weekend, runs the distance again at 1:25 p.m.

Maureen McMeekin wraps up the Yellow Jackets’ time in South Bend in the mile run at 2:30 p.m.

Aaron Unterberger finished third in the pole vault at the ACC Championships in Blacksburg, Va. last weekend and will try his luck again at Rector Field House Saturday.
