THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (14-24) has scheduled a home-and-home series with Kennesaw State (21-19) for the upcoming weekend, with games set to be played Friday and Sunday. The Jackets will travel to Kennesaw, Ga. on Friday for a 6 p.m. contest at Bailey Park before heading back to The Flats on Sunday for a 1 p.m. matchup at Mewborn Field.

Storylines
- Georgia Tech most recently split a doubleheader with Troy in its first midweek competition of the year. Senior first baseman Tricia Awald led the Jacket bats through the day with a two-run dinger in each game for four RBI while sophomore pitcher Blake Neleman turned in Tech’s best performance in the circle, picking up her seventh complete game win on the year while piling up a season-high tying 10 strikeouts through seven innings of work.
- The Jackets continue to flex their power this season as they’re currently third in the ACC and 27th in the NCAA in home runs per game (1.25).
- Georgia Tech has four different batters that have jacked eight or more homeruns on the season (Awald, Emma Kauf, Cameron Stanford and Crosby Huckabay). Eight total Jackets have gone yard multiple times this season.
- Along with that power, Tech has efficiently put runners on, ranking third in the conference in on-base percentage (0.380).
- In the field, the Yellow Jackets have displayed solid glove work this season as they’re marked third in the ACC in fielding percentage (0.969).
- A pair of Jackets have earned ACC Player of the Week recognition this season as sophomore catcher Emma Kauf earned ACC Player of the Week and sophomore pitcher Blake Neleman was named ACC Co-Pitcher of the week for their performances in the season opening Buzz Classic.
- Awald brings power and consistency as leads the Jackets with nine dingers and is currently third in the ACC in on-base percentage at (0.519).
- Senior utility player Breanna Roper has been among the conference’s best in making her way around the base path this year as she’s third in the league in runs per game averaging 0.94 per contest.
- Senior outfielder Cameron Stanford has thrived at the dish with runners on, currently ranking fifth in the ACC in RBI per game (0.94).
- Neleman retains some of the best marks of the pitching staff, tossing seven complete games for wins with a pair of shutouts. Following her complete-game win over Troy on Wednesday, the Marietta, Ga. native has piled up 72 strikeouts in 70 2/3 innings of work.
