Georgia Tech Receives No. 3 Seed in 2010 ACC Baseball Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech (44-11, 21-9 ACC) will open the 2010 ACC Baseball Championship as the No. 3 seed, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced this weekend. The Yellow Jackets will begin their tournament run Thursday at 8 p.m., when they face 6th-seeded Virginia Tech at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro, N.C.

The 2010 ACC Baseball Championship will begin Wednesday, May 26 and conclude Sunday, May 30, with the 1 p.m. title game. All 13 games of this year’s ACC Baseball Championship will be televised for the fourth straight year via RSN, a regional network that covers the entire conference footprint. The championship is split into two brackets, with each team playing the other three teams on their side of the bracket through the first four days of the tournament. The winners of the two brackets will meet Sunday for the championship.

Thursday, 8 p.m. – No. 3 Georgia Tech vs. No. 6 Virginia Tech
Friday, 8 p.m. – No. 3 Georgia Tech vs. No. 7 NC State
Saturday, 4 p.m. – No. 3 Georgia Tech vs. No. 2 Clemson
Sunday, 1 p.m. – Championship Game

Three games will be played each of the first four days in the championship – at 12 p.m., 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. For a complete listing of game times/matchups, directions, and other tournament information, go to the 2010 ACC Baseball Championship Website.

Full tournament ticket packages ($130) and single-game tickets may be purchased online by visiting the 2009 ACC Baseball Championships Ticket Website. General admission is $8- adults, $4- children. Reserved seats are $10- adults, $5- children.

The Greensboro Grasshoppers will host the 2010 and 2012 tournament.

All games can be heard live on WREK 91.1 FM, or online at www.RamblinWreck.com. All Wednesday through Friday games of the tournament will also air on satellite radio on Sirius 215 and XM 190. Saturday and Sunday games will air on Sirius 122 and XM 143.
