Georgia Tech #ProJackets Golf Report

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech goes 5-for-5 in cuts made at Sanderson Farms Championship … All three of Tech’s Web.com Tour graduates finish in the top 10 … Four Jackets set to compete in second stage of Web.com Tour Q-School later this week … This and more in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Report.

Roberto Castro, Anders Albertson and Seth Reeves, all of whom earned their PGA Tour cards after playing on the Web.com Tour last year, finished in the top 10 of the Sanderson Farms Championship last weekend in Jackson, Miss. Castro and Albertson tied for fifth place at 14-under-par 274, while Reeves tied for seventh at 13-under-par 275.

In doing so, all three moved into the top 80 in the FedEx Cup points standings with three events left in the fall portion of the PGA Tour schedule, which this week moves to Las Vegas for the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

Cameron Tringale, who played on the PGA Tour last year but needed a strong finish in the Web.com Finals to keep it for 2018-19, tied for 50th place after a big first round (see videos below), and Richy Werenski, in his third season on the Tour, tied for 61st.

Chesson Hadley, who took last week off after playing in the PGA Tour’s two events in Asia, is back in action this week, as is Matt Kuchar, making his first start of the new season after serving as vice-captain in the Ryder Cup and playing in the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. Ollie Schniederjans also returns to action after two weeks off.

Web.com Tour:  Four former Yellow Jackets will compete next week in the second stage of Web.com Tour qualifying school. Vincent Whaley and Chris Petefish advanced out of the first stage qualifying on Oct. 9-12 at the Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C., while J.T. Griffin, who earned more than $20,000 in five late starts on the Web.com Tour this summer, and Paul Haley made it through the first stage of qualifying at Highland Oaks Golf Club in Dothan, Ala.

Second stage events take place Nov. 6-9 in four locations, with one other Oct. 30-Nov. 2. The Q-school finals set for Dec. 6-9 in Chandler, Ariz.

Elsewhere:  Vincent Whaley closed out a strong season on the Adams Pro Tour, finishing second at the Fore the Kids Fall Shootout in Brownwood, Texas. Whaley racked up 51 points in the modified Stableford scoring system to pick up a $7,500 check and finish the season third on the money list with $49,526.
