CLEMSON, S.C. – The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets defeated the Clemson Tigers 5-2 in ACC women’s tennis action Tuesday afternoon at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.
The Yellow Jackets won four of the six singles matches and claimed the doubles point to record the win and improve to 11-8 on the season. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 8-11.
At No. 1 singles, Georgia Tech sophomore Debbie Reynolds defeated Clemson’s Anna Savitskaya, 0-6, 6-4, 7-6. Sophomore Jaime Wong defeated the Tigers’ Christina Oldock 6-3, 7-5, at No. 2. Sophomore Mason Miller defeated Anna Dolinska, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 and junior Laura Ozolins won a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 decision over Laurence Jayet at No. 6 singles.
In doubles, Ozolins and Wong defeated Oldock and Ana Stiglic, 8-3, at No. 2. Mason Miller and Fallon Koon topped Dolinska and Milena Stanoycheva at No. 3 doubles.
Georgia Tech concludes the regular season at home this weekend. The Yellow Jackets host Duke at noon on Saturday and North Carolina at noon on Sunday at Bill Moore Tennis Center. Admission to both matches is free.
