Gage Jenkins Named Assistant AD for Brand and Ideation

THE FLATS – Gage Jenkins, who has spent the last three years working in the digital media and marketing areas at the Air Force Academy, has been named assistant athletics director for brand and ideation for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association.

At Georgia Tech, Jenkins is tasked with providing strategic leadership across athletics for ideation, initiating the creative process and managing through development and actualization, building strategies for developing and promoting the Georgia Tech Athletics brand, including digital media content creation and execution. He also will lead marketing strategies for all social media pages, including the development of fan interaction initiatives and marketing and promotional opportunities to enhance brand awareness, serve as a primary liaison for all brand matters with the Atlantic Coast Conference and Institute Communications, and manage Tech’s official athletics website (Ramblinwreck.com), official athletics app and emerging technology that furthers the brand of Georgia Tech Athletics.

Jenkins comes to Tech after serving as the director of digital media for the last eight months at Air Force, overseeing the development, coordination, and implementation of social media strategy for the Falcons’ athletic department. During his term as director, athletics’ accounts combined interactions increased by 457 percent (No. 1 in the nation from 2019-20). Air Force ranked no. 12 in the nation for most combined interactions on brand channels (1.5 million), and finished No. 1 in the nation for 2020 growth on brand Instagram and Facebook.

He was promoted to the position after serving as assistant director of digital media for 19 months, and was the assistant director of marketing for eight months prior to that. Prior to his term at Air Force, Jenkins served as a marketing assistant for athletics at the University of Connecticut.

A native of Boise, Idaho, Jenkins earned a master’s degree in sports law and business from Arizona State University in 2018, during which he also served as a graduate assistant in marketing and game day management, working with soccer, softball, volleyball and wrestling. He received his bachelor of science degree in management from Arizona State in 2016, serving as a manager for the men’s basketball team as an undergraduate.

Throughout his undergraduate and graduate studies at Arizona State, Jenkins worked as a marketing and social media manager for Fuel-It!, a company that designs and manufactures state of the art flex fuel equipment for automobiles.
