NEW ORLEANS – Fatmata Fofanah, Shantia Moss and James Lemons II of the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams earned All-American honors at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, announced the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Sunday.

Fofanah, a senior from Bronx, N.Y., placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles event to earn her second career All-American nod. Fofanah, who finished with the second-best time in the prelims (8.04), crossed the line in 8.13 seconds to earn two points for the Jackets.

Moss, a senior from Tamarac, Fla., ran a time of 8.08 in the 60m hurdles to earn five points for the Yellow Jackets and her third career All-American nod at the championship meet. The reigning 2007 60m hurdles NCAA Champion finished .14 seconds behind the winner.

Lemons, a first time All-American, placed 10th in the triple jump after finishing with mark of 51 feet, 6 ¼ inches. The Atlanta, Ga. native’s mark was over a foot below his season-best jump of 52 feet, 8 ¼ inches, which he set at the Clemson Invitational.

Tech returns to action next Friday, March 21 as it opens its outdoor season at the Wake Forest Open in Winston-Salem, N.C.
