THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis was lauded academically on Monday, as the team was named a 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team and five student-athletes were tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must hold a grade point average of at least a 3.5 for the current academic year. The Jackets were represented by Monika Dedaj, Ava Hrastar, Carol Lee, Jeanette Lin and Sophia Sassoli. This is Lin’s third recognition and the first for Dedaj, Hrastar, Lee and Sassoli.
Additionally, Georgia Tech women’s tennis was tabbed an ITA All-Academic Team for the second consecutive year. The honor recognizes programs that posted a team grade point average of 3.2 or above for the 2020-21 academic year.
