THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis was lauded academically on Monday, as the team was named a 2022 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team and five student-athletes were tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an individual must hold a grade point average of at least a 3.5 for the current academic year. The Yellow Jackets were represented by Kylie Bilchev, Monika Dedaj, Ava Hrastar, Sophia Sassoli and Kate Sharabura. This marks the second recognition for Dedaj, Hrastar and Sassoli and first for Bilchev and Sharabura.
Additionally, for the third consecutive year, Georgia Tech women’s tennis was tabbed an ITA All-Academic Team. The honor recognizes programs that posted a team grade point average of 3.2 or above for the 2021-22 academic year.
All 14 Atlantic Coast Conference institutions that host women’s tennis were featured on both the scholar-athlete and all-academic teams lists. To view the complete list of honorees, please click here.
