r-Sr. DB Jaylon King (14) is the only player in NCAA Division I FBS this season to record four pass breakups, an interception and a fumble recovery in a single game, a feat that he accomplished in last Saturday’s 45-17 win at Virginia.
Top Storylines
• Riding the momentum of consecutive wins and standing alone in third place in the 15-team Atlantic Coast Conference, Georgia Tech faces a stiff challenge this weekend when it travels to defending ACC champion Clemson.
• Following wins over No. 17 North Carolina (46-42 on Oct. 28) and at Virginia (45-17 last Saturday), Georgia Tech (5-4, 4-2 ACC) is above .500 overall at a point later than one game into the season for the first time since 2018.
• Tech has also clinched a .500 record or better in ACC play for the second-straight season under head coach Brent Key and the 25th time in the last 29 seasons overall.
• Perhaps most impressively, the Yellow Jackets carry a five-game winning streak in ACC road games into Saturday’s game at Clemson. The five-consecutive ACC road wins match a school record for the Yellow Jackets, who have accomplished the feat three times previously (1984-86, 1997-98 and 2009-10).
• To set a new school record for consecutive ACC road wins, Georgia Tech will have to snap an eight-game losing streak against Clemson and a seven-game skid at CU’s Memorial Stadium. The Yellow Jackets have not defeated the Tigers since a 28-6 win in Atlanta in 2014 and haven’t won at Clemson since a 21-17 victory at Memorial Stadium in 2008.
• Georgia Tech QB Haynes King continues to be one of the nation’s top signal callers, as he ranks among the nation’s top 10 in total offense (7th – 319.4 ypg),
points responsible for (7th – 18.2 ppg) and touchdown passes (8th – 22) and is one of only two players with at least 2,300 passing yards, 20 touchdown passes, 500 rushing yards and five touchdown runs this season, joining LSU’s Jayden Daniels.
