ATLANTA – Nineteen members of the Georgia Tech men’s track & field team were named to the Atlantic Coast Conference Honor Roll announced by the league office on Wednesday. Senior Eric Massey, the indoor school record holder in the weight throw, leads the way for the Yellow Jackets.
In addition to Massey, athletes named include Miguel Amador, Chris Bishop, Matt DiDia, Blake Fertitta, Danny Giglio, Josh Hammel, David Herren, Greg Johnson, Adam Jones, Masato Kan, Matt Kinsel, Taylor Narewski, Chase Sasser, Joe Scroggins, James Taylor and Matt Trester.
The ACC Academic Honor Roll, now in its 50th year, is comprised of all ACC student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year.
Massey, a NCAA Region qualifier, set the school record in the weight throw earlier this year with a personal-record of 62 feet, 2 ¼ inches. He was named second team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District III.
Jones, a senior distance runner who missed this past year due to an injury, was honored for the fifth consecutive year.
Three-time honorees include seniors Sasser and Trester and juniors Feritta, Hammel, Herren and Narewski.
