Depland Leads Jackets on Day One of Rod McCravy Memorial

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Brandy Depland tallied a first-place finish in the women’s triple jump with a NCAA Provisional mark of 42 feet, 8 ¾ inches, to lead the Georgia Tech women’s track and field team at the Rod McCravy Memorial on Friday night. That mark set a new meet record.

Freshman Nigel Orr tallied a second-place finish for the Yellow Jackets in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 47 feet, 7 ¾ inches. Senior Kira Barcus finished third in the women’s pole vault with a mark of 10 feet, 6 inches.

Freshman Juan Cave finished third in the men’s high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 7 ½ inches. Freshman Alana Clooten finished 10th in the women’s weight throw with a toss of 44 feet, 11 ½ inches.

The Rod McCravy Memorial indoor track meet will conclude on Saturday. The meet can be followed via live stats at www.ukathletics.com.
