THE FLATS – Georgia Tech fifth-year tight end Chris Corbo (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex H.S.) is one of 43 players on the official watch list for the 2026 John Mackey Award. The Mackey Award is presented annually to the most outstanding tight end in college football.
In his first season at Georgia Tech as a graduate transfer from Dartmouth, Corbo was a two-time first-team NCAA Division I FCS All-American as a member of the Big Green (2024 and 2025). The 6-foot-5, 250-pounder caught 86 passes for 912 yards and 13 touchdowns in three seasons at Dartmouth, including 45 receptions for 516 yards and four scores during his second-straight All-America campaign in 2025. He caught 32 passes for 315 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns when he was named All-America for the first time in 2024.
Off the field, Corbo graduated from the Ivy League school in three-and-a-half years with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and is pursuing an MBA at Georgia Tech.
The Mackey Award has was established in 2000 and its 27th winner will be revealed as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 10.
Corbo and the Yellow Jackets opened fall camp this week in preparation for its season opener on Thursday, Sept. 3 versus Colorado. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field and the opener will be televised nationally on ESPN.

Georgia Tech posted a 9-4 overall record (tied for the 10th-most victories in Tech’s 133-season football history) and No. 24 final national ranking in 2025. The Jackets rose to as high as No. 7 in the national rankings and were ranked in the final 14 national polls of the season, which was their longest streak since Tech was ranked in all 16 polls in 1999.
Georgia Tech also went 6-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play in ‘25, which was good for a tie for second place in the 17-team conference. The Yellow Jackets are the only ACC team that has finished in the top four of the conference standings each of the last three seasons.

Full Steam Ahead is a $500 million fundraising initiative to achieve Georgia Tech athletics’ goal of competing for championships at the highest level in the next era of intercollegiate athletics.
