Shane Bowen, a three-year letterwinner at Georgia Tech, begins his second season on the football staff of his alma mater, his first year as a graduate assistant, working primarily with the B-backs.
Bowen works primarily with the Yellow Jacket offensive line.
A 2009 Georgia Tech graduate with a degree in business management, Bowen played in 38 consecutive games as an outside linebacker for the Yellow Jackets. Bowen, who started 10 times, was a part of three winning Tech teams and played in three bowl games.
Bowen[apos]s playing career was cut short when he suffered a career-ending neck injury as a junior.
Last year Bowen volunteered his time as a student assistant coach, working with the Tech linebackers and defensive line. In the summer of 2009, he worked for Ohio State[apos]s strength and conditioning program.
Bowen is a native of Pickerington, Ohio.
