Five-time National Football League All-Pro DeAndre Hopkins joined Georgia Tech football’s coaching staff as assistant wide receivers coach in 2026.
Hopkins caught 1,006 passes for 13,295 yards and 85 touchdowns in 13 NFL seasons with the Houston Texans (2013-19), Arizona Cardinals (2020-22), Tennessee Titans (2023-24), Kansas City Chiefs (2024) and Baltimore Ravens (2025). He had seven 1,000-yard seasons and earned All-Pro honors five times (first team – 2017-19, second team – 2015 and 2020). He’s also the Texans’ all-time leader in single-season receptions (115 in 2018) and touchdown receptions (13 in 2017). Hopkins’ 13 touchdown receptions in 2017 also led the NFL.
He spent three seasons alongside Georgia Tech offensive coordinator George Godsey, who served as the Texans’ quarterbacks coach in 2014 and offensive coordinator from 2015-16. Hopkins averaged a career-best 15.9 yards per catch during Godsey’s first year with the Texans in 2014.
Hopkins played collegiately at Clemson from 2010-12, where he caught 206 passes for 3,020 yards and 27 touchdowns in three seasons, including 82 receptions for 1,405 yards and 18 TDs as a junior in 2012. He declared for the NFL Draft following his all-America campaign as a junior and was selected in the first round of the 2013 Draft (No. 27 overall) by the Texans.
