After completing a successful rookie season with the Akron Racers in the NPF, where she was named to the 2014 All NPF Team, Ashley Thomas returns to her alma mater to serve as the volunteer assistant coach.

As a Senior (2014): Led the team in batting average (.381; seventh in the ACC), hits (56), runs (44) and on-base percentage (.480) … Hit eight home runs and batted in 21 runs … Started all 47 games at shortstop … On opening day (Feb. 8), hit two home runs in two games against Missouri State … Finished the season with 18 steals, putting her second all-time in the Tech career record books with 113.
As a Junior (2013): ACC Player of the Year … NFCA All-Region second team … First Team All-ACC … Led ACC and team in batting average, hits, runs and stolen bases … Went on a 26-game hitting streak and reaching base safely streak … Batting average in conference play never fell below .460 … Leadoff batter in all but two games and started all 55 games at shortstop … Stole two bases in a single game nine times.
As a Sophomore (2012): Started all 60 games … Recorded a .295 batting average with a team-high 57 hits (sixth in the ACC) … Notched the second-most at bats in the league (193) and managed a team-high 46 runs (second in the ACC) … Swiped 31 bases, which was tied for second in the league … Went 7-for-9 with three runs, one RBI and one triple in a doubleheader at Florida State (April 15) … Tallied four runs and three stolen bases, after going 3-for-4 in the first game at La-Lafayette (March 22) … Registered 15 multi-hit games.
As a Freshman (2011): Appeared in 56 games on the year starting in 54 of them … Finished the season with a .305 batting average compiling 43 hits, two doubles and three triples … Scored 32 runs on the year … Was 27 for 29 on the base paths … Registered 12 multi-hit games on the year including a few three hit affairs … Notched a 2-for-3 outing against UT Chattanooga (Feb. 12) hitting the first triple of her Tech career driving in a run and scoring one of her own … Had back-to-back two hit games against Evansville (March 4) and UAB (March 6) notching a triple and a couple of RBIs … Had the first three hit game of her career at Virginia Tech (April 9) … Went 3-for-4 at home against Georgia (April 13) scoring a run … Had a 3-for-4 effort against UNC (April 17) driving in two runs … Had five consecutive multi-hit games from April 30 to May 7 racking up 10 hits, eight RBIs, and scoring seven runs during that time.
High School: Four-year letterwinner for Coach Greenway at McKinney High School … Holds school career records for hits (173), at bats (394), doubles (23), triples (14), runs scored (120), stolen bases (44), batting average (.439) and on-base percentage (.488) … As a senior, set single-season school records for batting average (.554), stolen bases (18), runs scored (40) and triples (5) … Named Lionette of the Year (Team MVP) all four years … Senior year accolades included first-team all-area by Vype Magazine and the Dallas Morning News, Lionette Big Stick Award, District Offensive Player of the Year and all-academic team … Three-time member of the all-district first team and all-academic team as well as a two-time All-McKinney team pick … As a freshman, was named to McKinney[apos]s [quote]Magnificent 9 … Played travel ball for the Texas Glory Gold team and finished in the top 20 at nationals in each of the past two seasons.
