Clooten’s personal-best mark of 194’00” came on her third attempt in the meet, and was good enough to hold on for second place. Hern’s regional qualifying toss came at a distance of 189’00”, giving her third-place on the day. The Clinton, Wash. Native has now regionally qualified for the NCAA’s each season of her collegiate-career.

The Yellow Jacket Invitational continues Saturday with the women’s shot put at 10:30 a.m.
