Choice, Hall, Miller, and Tringale Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

Tashard Choice, Taylor Hall, Kristi Miller, and Cameron Tringale were named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, October 17, 2005.

Choice, a sophomore from Riverdale, Ga., Choice rushed for a career-high 107 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead Georgia Tech to a 35-10 win at Duke. Stepping in for injured P.J. Daniels, Choice covered 107 yards on just 15 rushes, an average of 7.1 yards per carry. He scored on a pair of one-yard runs as part of Tech’s 28-point spurt in an eight-minute span in the third quarter. Choice helped Tech rush for a season-high 257 yards.

Hall, a freshman from LaGrange, Ga., helped pace Georgia Tech to its first tournament victory of the fall last week with a six-shot victory over top-ranked Georgia in the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate in Birmingham, Ala. Playing in his second collegiate tournament, Hall tied for fourth place individually with teammate Cameron Tringale at six-under-par 207 to lead the Yellow Jackets in closing with rounds of 67-69.

Miller, a sophomore from Marysville, Mich., won the Wilson/ITA South Region Championships singles title, defeating No. 34 Diana Srebrovic from Florida in three sets. With her victory, she has now qualified for the ITA National Indoor Championships in November. She also teamed with Lyndsay Shosho and advanced to the semifinals of the doubles tournament before falling to No. 2 Duch/Etienne of South Florida, 9-8 (7).

Playing in his second collegiate tournament, Tringale tied for fourth place individually with teammate Taylor Hall at six-under-par 207 to lead the Yellow Jackets, closing with rounds of 67-67.
