THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis freshman Kylie Bilchev is set to make her first appearance in the 2021 US Open Junior Tennis Championships, entering the qualifying draw of singles competition.
Bilchev is one of 24 players in the qualifying draw competing for six spots into the main draw. The Ipswich, England native, will face 5th-seeded Annabelle Xu (Canada) in the first round Friday morning. The Yellow Jacket currently holds a ITF Junior Ranking of 101, while Xu is ranked No. 67. The winner will face either Katja Wiersholm (USA) or Chelsea Fontenel (SUI) in second round action.
Qualifying action runs Friday-Sunday, with main draw action beginning Monday, Sept. 6. For more information on the tournament, please click here.
Bilchev also made an appearance in the 2021 Wimbledon Juniors over the summer, advancing to the third round of the girls’ singles draw.
