Bell Becomes Third Tech Basketball Signee

Nov. 16, 2004

ATLANTA – D’Andre Bell, a 6-5 wing guard from Pacific Palisades, Calif., signed a letter-of-intent Monday evening to attend Georgia Tech and join its men’s basketball program, head coach Paul Hewitt announced.

Bell is the third high school player to sign with the Yellow Jackets, joining 6-1 point guard Austin Jackson of Denton, Texas, the nation’s 49th-ranked player, and 6-2 guard Lewis Clinch of Cordele, Ga., the nation’s 27th-ranked player.

Bell was named a high honorable mention All-Americans by Street & Smith’s magazine, and is ranked No. 110 in the nation by Athlon Sports.

“D’Andre has excellent size for a perimeter player, and is athletic with a knack for scoring,” said Hewitt.

Bell, who weighs 205 pounds, averaged 25 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocks per game as a junior at Palisades Charter High School, and was named all-city in Los Angeles by SoCal Hoops.
