ATLANTA – Volleyball star Marisa Aston and basketball standout Luke Schenscher named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, December 13, 2004.
Aston, a senior from Huntington Beach, Calif., recorded a career-high 36 digs in a five-game setback to No. 4 Minnesota in the NCAA Regional. Aston, a second-team all-ACC selection this season, ends her career ranked second on the Tech career dig list with 1,583, which also ranks ninth on the ACC career dig list.
Schenscher, a senior from Hope Forest, South Austrailia, scored 15 points to lead No. 3 Georgia Tech to a 64-42 win over Air Force in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Classic. The 7-1 senior pulled down a team leading eight rebounds, blocked three shots and had one steal. He shot 67-percent from the floor and was a perfect 3-for-3 at the charity stripe.
