Tech’s best athlete and top all-around defender … Preseason all-ACC candidate … A tenacious rebounder … Has joined the Yellow Jackets’ track & field team as a high jumper at the conclusion of basketball season the past two years … Is just beginning to come into her own as a basketball player … Coaches are expecting big things from her this season and believe she has the potential to become one of the Jackets’ all-time best players before her career is over.

1998-99 (SOPHOMORE SEASON)
Showed tremendous improvement, raising her scoring and rebounding averages from 5.0 ppg and 4.6 rpg as a freshman to 9.9 ppg and 8.7 rpg as a sophomore … Started all 27 games at forward … Led the Yellow Jackets in rebounding with 236 and ranked second in the ACC with 8.7 boards per game … Ranked among the conference leaders in steals for much of the season before finishing the year with 41 … Registered six double-doubles on the season … Had a career game vs. No. 5/4 Georgia on Jan. 18, 1999 with 18 points, 18 rebounds and two blocked shots, all career highs … Initially scored 18 two games prior to the meeting with the Lady Bulldogs with 18 vs. No. 12/10 Clemson on Jan. 10, 1999 in Atlanta … Played one of her best all-around games in Tech’s 86-78 win over Florida State in Tallahassee on Jan. 31, 1999 … Had 13 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and six steals while playing all 40 minutes against the Seminoles … Logged 30 or more minutes in 18 contests and registered 35 or more minutes 11 times … Named to the all-tournament team at the Georgia Tech/Atlanta Marriott Northwest Holiday Invitational … Had 16 points and eight rebounds vs. St. Francis (N.Y.) in the first round and 13 points and eight boards vs. Lafayette in the championship game.

1999 TRACK & FIELD
Joined the track team at the conclusion of basketball season for the second straight year … Finished third in the high jump at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a season-best leap of 5-7.25 … Cleared 5-6 at the Auburn Springtime Invitational, placing third in her first track competition after basketball … Placed second in the Tennessee Gatorade Classic with a jump of 5-5.

1997-98 (FRESHMAN SEASON)
Saw action in all 28 contests and started the last 12 games of the season … Was Tech’s third-leading rebounder with 129 boards and an average of 4.6 rebounds per game … Scored in double figures three times during a five-game span which included a season-high 14 points in Tech’s win over Wake Forest on Feb. 13 … Was 7-of-11 from the floor against the Demon Deacons … Although Wake held a 25-22 halftime advantage, Tate hit a pair of jumpers and a layup to key an 11-1 run to open the second half … Had 12 points against 15th-ranked Duke on Feb. 5 and 13 at No. 19 Clemson on Feb. 22 … Registered four steals in back-to-back games against Duke (Feb. 5) and North Carolina (Feb. 8) … Had a season-high seven rebounds in the Yellow Jackets’ 78-64 win over Belmont on Jan. 24 … Had nine points, six rebounds and two steals in her first career start versus 19th-ranked Clemson on Jan. 22.

1998 TRACK & FIELD
Joined the track team at the conclusion of basketball season … Won the high jump at the Florida Relays (5-06.00) and Clemson Invitational (5-05.75) … Finished third in the high jump at the ACC Outdoor Championships with a leap of 5-06.00 … High jumped a personal-best 5-07.75 to take third at the Georgia Tech-Reebok Invitational.

Lettered four years in basketball and track … Named Most Valuable Player three years in basketball … all Bi-City three years in basketball … all Bi-City Player of the Year as a junior and senior … Lettered four years in track … State high jump champion her sophomore and junior year … Competed on the 4×400 meter relay team that won a state championship as a sophomore and senior … Named most valuable player four years in track … Named to the all Bi-City track team four years … All Bi-City Player of the Year as a sophomore in track … Holds the school record in the 100 meter hurdles and high jump … Class Valedictorian … National Honor Society member … Mu Alpha Theta member.
