Women’s Tennis Returns to No. 20 in ITA Rankings

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s tennis climbed back into the nation’s top 20 on Tuesday, moving two spots in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings to No. 20.

The Yellow Jackets picked up a win at Clemson last weekend to close out regular season road play. After dropping the doubles point, Tech responded by winning five singles matches to clinch the victory and collect its fourth Atlantic Coast Conference win on the road. Rosie Garcia Gross clinched the victory from the five spot for her 10th dual singles win this season.

Also released on Tuesday were the latest individual rankings as Tech placed four Yellow Jackets in the top 115 in the singles poll and one doubles team. Carol Lee continues to lead Georgia Tech with a No. 12 singles ranking, spending the entire spring season ranked in the top 15. She is followed by Kylie Bilchev at No. 24, Mahak Jain at No. 80 and Alejandra Cruz at No. 108. All four Jackets boast double-figure dual singles wins this season, paced by Bilchev’s team-high 15.

In doubles action, Bilchev and Cruz are ranked for the third-straight time, standing at No. 79. The pair owns a 16-8 overall doubles record on the year, including a 7-2 mark from the No. 2 position.

Georgia Tech closes out regular season action this weekend, welcoming Florida State on Friday and Miami on Sunday. Both matches will take place at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
