Unterberger and McKee Highlight Day One At Georgia Tech Invite

THE FLATS – Aaron Unterberger and Julienne McKee won their events to highlight the Yellow Jacket track and field team’s first day Friday hosting the Georgia Tech Invite at Griffin Track. Unterberger won the pole vault and defeated the competition by more than a foot with a height of 5.35 (17-06.50).

McKee picked up the victory in the long jump with a distance of 6.22m (20-05). Teammate Jasmine Kent took fourth in the same event with a leap of 6.12m (20-01).

On the track, Rachel Hammond took fourth in the 1,500 meters with a personal-best time of 4:35.66.

On the men’s side, Jeremy Greenwald and Brandon Lasater placed second and third, respectively, in the 1,500 meters. Greenwald crossed the line in 3:45.84 and Lasater followed in his footsteps with a time of 3:49.71.

Action continues Saturday at Griffin Track with the women’s high jump and pole vault at 11 a.m.
