Tech Track Opens Indoor Season Saturday

Meet Schedule

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field team will open the 2014-15 indoor season at the Orange & Purple Winter Classic on Saturday hosted by Clemson at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex.

The meet begins with the men’s and women’s pole vault, and the women’s weight throw at 11 a.m., followed by the start of running events at 12:30 p.m. with the women’s 1,500 meters.

Teams competing with the Yellow Jackets and Clemson include Anderson, Emmanuel, Florida A&M, Lees-McRae, Methodist, North Carolina A&T, Southern Wesleyan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Wofford and Western Carolina.

The Jackets return All-Americans Nikita Kirillov and Jonathan Gardner, and honorable mention All-Americans Jeremy Greenwald and Brandon Lasater, along with standout performers Alec Clifford, Zack Fanelty and Myles McDavid.

The women’s team returns Morgan Jackson, Katie Townsend and Kelly Meyer, who are all enter the season after solid cross country performances, along with pole vaulter Samantha Becker and combined event performer Donjhae Jones.
