THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis will compete at the Bulldawg Invitational from Oct. 8-10. The three-day event will be the first action for much of Tech’s team.
Twelve teams will be competing over the weekend. Georgia Tech, the hosts Georgia, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UNC Charlotte, UNC Wilmington, Auburn, Furman, Miami, Georgia State and Vanderbilt.
Matches start at 9 a.m. each day. Friday will be two rounds of doubles and one round of singles, Saturday will be two rounds of singles and one round of doubles and Sunday will be one round of doubles and one round of singles.
Doubles matches are an eight-game pro set, no advantage scoring system. Singles matches are a two out of three sets, no advantage scoring system.
The Invitational will be four 16-player compass draws. Each team’s number one player will be guaranteed a spot in the top draw. The remaining spots will be filled by the highest rated remaining players and one Georgia tennis player.
After that each team’s number two player, if not in the top draw, will be placed in the second draw. Following this, the remaining spots will be filled by the highest rated players.
