Stowers Leads Jackets on First day of NCAA Zone B Diving Championships

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Sophomore Evan Stowers finished 11th on the men’s three-meter springboard with a score of 582.65 to lead Georgia Tech at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships on Friday. The top three are guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Junior Tony Burkhardt finished 21st on the men’s three-meter board with a score of 263.85. Sophomores Peter Doblar and Michael Bennett finished 26th and 41st, respectively, with scores of 248.30 and 207.40.

Sophomore Stephanie England will compete on the women’s three-meter springboard on Saturday, along with the men on the one-meter board.

The Zone Diving meet will continue tomorrow with the men’s one-meter board and women’s three-meter board. Live dive results will be posted on Kentucky’s website at www.ukathletics.com.
