2021 (Freshman): Appeared in seven games and made six starts at quarterback while battling injuries throughout the campaign …  Despite playing in the equivalent of just six full games (as he only played one half against Northern Illinois (Sept. 4) and North Carolina (Sept. 25)), led the team in passing yards (1,468), completions (113), completion percentage (.601), touchdown passes (12) and total offense (1,840 yards) … Was initially injured during the first half of Georgia Tech’s season opener versus NIU and subsequently missed the next two games versus Kennesaw State (Sept. 11) and at No. 6 Clemson (Sept. 18) … Returned to action against No. 20 UNC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium and came off the bench to turn in one of the most impressive performances of his career … Despite not entering the game until late in the second quarter, he accounted for 240 yards of total offense (128 rushing, 112 passing) and four touchdowns (three rushing, one passing) to help lead Tech to a 45-22 win over the 20th-ranked Tar Heels … Completed 10-of-13 passes in the win over UNC, good for a season-best 174.7 pass-efficiency rating … In recognition of the outstanding performance against UNC, was named to the Davey O’Brien Award Great 8 and Manning Award Stars of the Week lists, which both recognize college football’s top eight quarterbacks of the week … Was additionally tabbed by ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit as his No. 6 top-performing player of the week following the triumph over North Carolina … Followed up the outstanding effort against UNC by completing 24-of-33 passes for a career-high 359 yards and two touchdowns against eventual ACC champion Pitt (Oct. 2) … The 359 passing yards against Pitt were the most by a Georgia Tech quarterback in 20 years, dating back to George Godsey throwing for 486 against Virginia on Nov. 10, 2001 … The following week at Duke (Oct. 9), he threw for 297 yards and a career-high-tying three scores in a come-from-behind 31-27 victory … Trailing 27-24 and with no timeouts late in the fourth quarter, he needed just 51 seconds to march the Yellow Jackets 88 yards in six plays for the winning touchdown, a 36-yard pass to Adonicas Sanders on third-and-six with just 51 seconds to go in the game … The triumph over Duke marked the third-straight contest that he compiled a pass-efficiency rating of at least 170 — 174.7 vs. UNC, 172.0 vs. Pitt and 171.4 at Duke … Notched his second 300-yard passing game of the season and threw for three touchdowns for the second time in 2021 and third time in his career when he threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns at Virginia (Oct. 23) … Also ran for 65 yards at UVA, good for a career-high 365 yards of total offense … Had 243 yards of total offense and two touchdown passes against Virginia Tech (Oct. 30) … In what turned out to be his final game of the season, threw for 194 yards and a touchdown at Miami (Nov. 6) … Missed the final three games of the season — vs. Boston College (Nov. 13), at No. 6 Notre Dame (Nov. 20) and vs. No. 1 Georgia (Nov. 27) due to injury … Named to the ACC all-academic team for his achievements on the field and in the classroom.

2020 (Freshman – “Covid Year” – year of eligibility retained): One of the top freshman quarterbacks in the country, started and played in all 10 games during the shortened 2020 season … Named ACC Rookie of the Week three times, becoming only the third Yellow Jacket to be earn the honor as many as three times and first since Calvin Johnson (2004) … Finished 141-for-257 and 1,881 passing yards and 13 passing touchdowns … Finished with a 122.9 efficiency rating … Also rushed 120 times for 492 yards and a team-best six rushing touchdowns … Threw 200 yards of passing in four games, including three of his first four … Became the first true freshman quarterback to start a Georgia Tech season opener since Reggie Ball in 2003 (Aug. 28 vs. BYU) … Guided Tech to victory in the season opener against Florida State (Sept. 12) when he competed 23-of-34 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown, also running for 64 yards on 13 carries … Became the first true freshman quarterback to ever win a season opener for Georgia Tech since the NCAA granted freshmen eligibility in 1972 … His 23 completions were the most by any Georgia Tech quarterback since Reggie Ball completed 24 against UNC on Sept. 10, 2005 … His 23 completions were tied for 27th-most all-time by any Georgia Tech passer in a single game … His 277 passing yards were the most by any Georgia Tech quarterback since Justin Thomas had 282 against Wofford (Aug. 30, 2014) and most against an FBS opponent since Taylor Bennett threw for 309 against Maryland in 2007 (Oct. 6) … Crossed the 200-passing-yard plateau in the win over Louisville (Oct. 9) en route to his second ACC Rookie of the Week honors, finishing 11-of-21 for 249 yards and two touchdowns … Also threw two touchdowns at Boston College (Oct. 24) … as only freshman and one of only nine players in Division I FBS with 100 rushing yards and three touchdown passes in a game, doing so with three passing touchdowns and 108 rushing yards against Duke (Nov. 28) … Recorded 238 passing yards on 17 completions in the season finale against Pitt (Dec. 10), also completing two passing touchdowns … Helped Georgia Tech to finish as one of only seven Power Five conference teams with as many as three players with 300 rushing yards in 2020, joining his teammates Jahmyr Gibbs (460) and Jordan Mason (352) with 492 yards.

High School: Rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals, 247Sports and ESPN … A member of the prestigious Rivals250, 247Sports 247 and ESPN300 lists … Tabbed as the No. 6-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the nation and the No. 22-ranked player in the state of Florida by ESPN … Earned recognition as one of the nation’s “Elite 11” quarterbacks in the prestigious annual QB competition … Ranked as one of the top 15 recruits in Georgia Tech history by 247Sports … Three-year starter at quarterback at Sandalwood H.S. … Amassed more than 5,000 passing yards, 1,200 rushing yards and 55 total touchdowns in his prep career … Accounted for 23 touchdowns (14 passing, nine rushing) while throwing only three interceptions as a senior in 2019 … Coached by Adam Geis.
