2020 (Sixth-Year Senior): All-ACC honorable mention for the second-straight season … Named one of the team’s permanent captains for the second-straight season … Led Georgia Tech with 84 tackles and nine tackles for loss … Ranked fifth in the ACC and 64th nationally with 8.4 tackles per game … Recorded between six and eight tackles each game over six of the first seven contests of the season (6 vs. Florida State, 8 vs. UCF, 7 at Syracuse, 7 vs. Louisville, 8 at Boston College, 6 vs. Notre Dame) … Took his game to another level following Georgia Tech’s four-week break at the beginning of November, recording at least 12 tackles in each of the final three games of his collegiate career – 12 vs. Duke, 12 at NC State and 14 vs. Pitt … 14 tackles came vs. Pitt came despite having to miss some time during the game to attend to a hand injury … Was one of only five ACC players to record 12 or more tackles in a game on at least three different occasions in 2020 … Was one of only 12 players in the ACC with at least 2.0 tackles for loss in three different games (at FSU, at NC State, vs. Pitt) … Broke up two passes in the win over Duke (Nov. 28).

2019 (Fifth-Year Junior): All-ACC honorable mention … Started all 12 games at inside linebacker … Led the team with 97 tackles (54 solo) on the season … Ranked tied for eighth in the ACC and 53rd nationally with 8.1 tackles per game … Recorded at least three tackles in every game and was one of just eight ACC players with four double-digit tackle games … His four double-digit tackle games were the most since Julian Burnett in 2005 … Also finished with 6.0 tackles-for-loss for 16 yards and 2.0 sacks for 9 yards … Forced two fumbles on the year and recovered one … Also intercepted one pass for eight yards, hurried a quarterback and broke up three passes to complete the stat sheet … Was one of just seven Power Five players and one of 16 Division I FBS players with at least 97 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery in 2019 … First crossed doubled-digits against The Citadel (Sept. 14), when he tallied 14 tackles, 1.0 sacks for 4 yards and intercepted a pass … Registered a career-high 16 tackles (eight solo) against North Carolina (Oct. 5), the most by a Tech defender since Morgan Burnett had 16 in 2009 … Took down 10 offensive players and forced his first fumble of his career against Pitt (Nov. 2) … Recorded nine tackles the next week at Virginia (Nov. 9), including 2.0 tackles-for-loss for 6 yards and 1.0 sacks for 5 yards … Totaled 11 tackles (eight solo) and 1.0 tackles for loss in the primetime Thursday night game against NC State (Nov. 21) … Forced his second fumble of the season against then-No. 4 Georgia (Nov. 30) … Tallied 63 tackles over the Yellow Jackets’ final six home games of the season … Joined Charlie Thomas and Tariq Carpenter in becoming the first Georgia Tech trio since 2012 to record more than 60 tackles apiece in a single season … An ACC Honor Roll member.

2018 (Redshirt Junior): Appeared in all 13 games and made 12 starts at inside linebacker … Ranked sixth on the team with 47 tackles … Registered at least one tackle in every game and made multiple stops in 12-of-13 … Opened the season with four tackles and a fumble recovery that he returned 15 yards for a touchdown in shutout win over Alcorn State (Sept. 1) … Had six tackles at USF (Sept. 8) but was ejected from the game due to a targeting penalty in the second half, a turning point in Georgia Tech’s 49-38 loss … Was forced to sit out of the first half at Pitt (Sept. 15) due to the previous week’s targeting call but returned to make two tackles in the second half of the defeat … Was in on a sack against Clemson (Sept. 22) … Had five tackles and a quarterback hurry in rout at Louisville (Oct. 5) … Recorded a career-high seven stops in win at North Carolina (Nov. 3) … Had six tackles in Quick Lane Bowl vs. Minnesota (Dec. 26).

2017 (Redshirt Sophomore): Sustained a lower-body injury during fall camp and missed the entire season.

2016 (Redshirt Freshman): Appeared in all 13 games with one start at outside linebacker (Sept. 17 vs. Vanderbilt) … Finished the season with 12 tackles … Ranked second on the team with four special-teams tackles (two on kickoffs, two on punts) … Matched a career high with three tackles at Pittsburgh (Oct. 8) and Virginia Tech (Nov. 12).

2015 (True Freshman): Redshirted.

High School: Three-year letterwinner … Team captain as senior while leading Buford to three-straight state titles … Buford was 58-2 in four years … 2014 all-county, all-state first team selection and region defensive player of the year … Also played receiver, punter and punt returner … Led Buford with 75 tackles along with nine pass breakups, two interceptions and two punt returns for touchdown as senior … Coached by Jess Simpson, who is now defensive line coach at ACC rival Miami … Lettered three years in track for head coach David Snell … Team captain all three years … Was 2013 Georgia state pole vault champion.

Personal: Earned a B.S. in economics from Georgia Tech in May 2019 and is on pace to earn a M.S. in economics from Georgia Tech in May 2021 … Has two older brothers and one younger sister … Father, Buddy, was two-time All-Pro linebacker for Atlanta Falcons and 1980 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year … Brother, Justin, was drafted by Cincinnati Reds out of high school … Brother, Jessel, played football at Auburn from 2009-11 and Delaware from 2011-14 … Sister, Gabby, is an All-America volleyball player at Kentucky and helped lead UK to the 2020-21 NCAA Division I national championship.
