TOP STORYLINES

• Coming off a 17-run midweek explosion, No. 7 Georgia Tech baseball continues its homestand against Gardner-Webb on Feb. 25-27 at Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium.

• This weekend marks the first three-game series between the two programs, having previously met in midweek matchups twice in 2002 and once in 2020.

• Georgia Tech owns a 3-0 record against the Runnin’ Bulldogs.

• The seventh-ranked Yellow Jackets have proved to be every bit of the offensive powerhouse they were touted to be in the preseason, hitting .365 with 57 runs through five games.

• Chandler Simpson has been the spark plug for Tech, hitting .650 out of the leadoff with a .708 on-base percentage and four stolen bases. In his 20 at-bats, he’s scored 12 times – good for second in the nation. He’s tied atop the ACC and co-leads the country with 13 hits.

• Andrew Jenkins (.471), Tres Gonzalez (.429) and Kevin Parada (.400) are all hitting .400 on the season with a combined 22 RBI between them.

• Drew Compton (.368) and Jake DeLeo (.368) with Compton having three homers. DeLeo co-leads the nation with five doubles already.

• Tech’s pitching also turned in a fine performance despite Wright State’s comeback bid in Game 1.

• The staff finished two strikeouts away from tying the single-game school record of 19 on Friday night when Chance Huff started and punched out nine.

• Huff, Zach Maxwell and Aeden Finateri will once again anchor the Georgia Tech rotation this weekend.

• Maxwell and Finateri both struck out five apeice in their outings.
