• Georgia Tech baseball looks to continue their hot start to the 2023 campaign when they travel south to in-state foe Georgia Southern on Feb. 21.
• Georgia Southern is one of Tech’s most common opponents, having played 136 times since 1947. Tech owns a 104-32 advantage over the Eagles.
• Tech has won 12 of the last 13 matchups dating back to 2014.
• A revamped Yellow Jackets club is looking to replace the No. 1 offense in the country last season, and is bolstered by the No. 3-ranked recruiting class.
• Opening weekend did not disappoint for the bats as Tech hit .308 with 17 extra-base hits and five home runs.
• Jake DeLeo earned National Player of the Week honors for hitting .417 with three home runs on the weekend.
• John Giesler led the way, however, hitting .556 with five hits, two doubles and one triple.
• Stephen Reid also hit .417 with two home runs.
• After a tough Friday night pitching game with cold temperatures and 20 mph gusts, Tech pitching reset and issued just two walks the rest of the weekend — none by either starter.
• Logan McGuire went 5.0 innings on Saturday with six strikeouts and just two runs allowed like Jackson Finley went 5.0, allowed just one run and two hits with three strikeouts.
• Luke Schmolke will make his first start of his freshman campaign with the Jackets, making one appearance over the weekend for Tech and not allowing a hit in 1.1 innings.
• The 6-foot righty was rated the No. 6 RHP out of North Carolina and No. 12 North Carolinian overall in the class.
