TOP STORYLINES
• No. 12 Georgia Tech baseball heads on its first weekend road series when it heads to Raleigh to take on NC State on March 25-27.
• Georgia Tech currently owns a 78-59 advantage in the all-time series against NC State, but is 27-30 on the road.
• The Jackets swept the Wolfpack in the regular season last season before falling to them in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament.
• The 12th-ranked Jackets have proved to be every bit of the offensive powerhouse they were touted to be in the preseason. Through 22 games, Tech leads the country with 266 hits on the year.
• Tech also ranks fifth in runs (214), sixth in home runs (41), 10th in walks (127), average (.326), and scoring (9.7).
• They also rank 11th in on-base percentage (.430) and sacrifice flies (14).
• Kevin Parada has been unstoppable at the plate, currently ranking No. 6 in the country in hits (37), 19th in home runs (8), 13th in RBI (31) and ninth in total bases (67). He’s hitting .394 with a .491 OBP and just eight strikeouts in 94 at-bats.
• Also red-hot at the plate are Andrew Jenkins (.374), Tim Borden II (.350), Tres Gonzalez (.346), Drew Compton (.306) and Stephen Reid (.291).
• Jenkins was named a national player of the week by Collegiate Baseball for his eight hits and four home runs last week. Since March 11, Jenkins has hit .465 for 20 hits, two doubles, five home runs and 13 RBI.
• This weekend’s rotation will feature Chance Huff, Cody Carwile and Marquis Grissom, Jr.
• Together, the three combine for a 3.30 ERA with 63 strikeouts.
• Carwile will be making his first start as a true freshman, currently holding a 2-0 record and 0.61 ERA in 14.2 IP.
