TOP STORYLINES
• Georgia Tech closes October with a Halloween night ACC showdown at Pittsburgh.
• Both Georgia Tech and Pitt come into the game looking to snap skids, as the
Yellow Jackets have lost their last two and three of their last four games, while the
Panthers are in the midst of a three-game losing streak after a 5-0 start.
• After playing each other annually as members of the ACC's Coastal Division from
2013-22, Georgia Tech and Pitt are meeting for only the second time since the
conference dropped its divisional format in 2023.
• The Yellow Jackets are making their first trip to Pittsburgh's Acrisure Stadium
since 2022, when they stunned the 24th-ranked Panthers, 26-21, in Brent Key's
first game as Tech's interim head coach.
• Georgia Tech is looking to rebound from a 49-27 home loss to Boston College
last Saturday. The Yellow Jackets' injury-depleted defense, which was missing eight
players that have made starts over the course of the season, surrendered 399 rushing
yards in the defeat, including 278 in the second half.
• The Yellow Jackets have led at halftime in five of their seven games this season,
but are just 2-3 when holding the lead at the break.
• Georgia Tech has a pair of white-hot receivers in sophomores Jordan Allen and
Dalen Penson. Allen has hauled in 24 receptions for 304 yards over the last three
games while Penson has totaled 174 receiving yards over the last two contests.
• A bright spot for the Yellow Jackets defensively in last Saturday's game was
freshman safety Chris Hewitt, Jr., who amassed 11 total tackles (10 solo) in his
first-career start. He is the only freshman in the nation this season with 10 solo
tackles in a game.
