Softball beats Michigan State 11-2 in five, game with Illinois halted due to weather

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech softball (4-3) opened the ACC/Big Ten Challenge with a win on Friday afternoon, taking down Michigan State (3-4) 11-2 in a five-inning run-rule victory. The Yellow Jackets dropped their second game of the day to Illinois (5-2) 15-10 midway through the sixth. The game was called due to rain.

The Yellow Jackets continue the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Saturday, hosting Illinois and Michigan State at Mewborn Field at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., respectively. Both games will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
