Miller Named ACC Track & Field Co-Performer of the Week

Jan. 13, 2009

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech senior Jerome Miller has been named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field Co-Performer of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. Miller shares the honor with Clemson’s Jacoby Ford.

The Stafford, Va. native, broke the Tech indoor high jump record with a clearance of 7 feet, 4 ¼ inches Saturday at the Clemson Invitational. The mark punches a ticket for Miller to the 2009 NCAA Championships in just his first meet of the season.

Miller held the previous record of 7 feet, 2 ½ inches set in the 2007 indoor season. His jump Saturday was four inches higher than the next best mark.

Both men’s and women’s track & field teams resume the indoor season at the Kentucky Invitational this weekend in Lexington, Ky.
