Men's Tennis Adds Pablo Schelcher

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis coach Kenny Thorne announced on Tuesday the addition of Pablo Schelcher to the 2019 roster.

“We are excited to welcome Pablo to our roster this spring,” Thorne said. “He trains out of the Rafael Nadal Academy and has good success in singles in international tournaments.”

Schelcher will join an already talented roster that features four upperclassmen: Carlos Divar, Phillip Gresk, Andrew Li, and Chris Yun.

Schelcher enters 2019 with an impressive singles UTR (Universal Tennis Ranking) of 13.32 and a doubles UTR of 14.20. He also currently ranks 1351 in professional world ranked doubles.

Schelcher finished second in the Spain F4 doubles tournament last February while partnered with Pedro Vives Marcos.

Along the way, Schelcher and his partner defeated Orol Roca Batalla and Pol Toledo Bague, Yan Bondarevskly and Sergio Gutlerrez-Ferrol, and Ivan Gakhov and Evgenll Tlurnev before losing a heartbreaker to Sergio Martos Gornes and Mark Vervoort, in the tiebreaker.
