THE FLATS – Georgia Tech swimming and diving welcomes the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships back to the McAuley Aquatic Center in 2022 as announced by the NCAA office on Tuesday.
The women’s swimming and diving championships are set for March 16-19, 2022. The men’s championships will follow from March 23-26, 2022. It will be the third time Georgia Tech has hosted the swimming and diving championships, most recently in 2016. The first time the Yellow Jackets hosted the swimming and diving championships was in 2006.
McAuley Aquatic Center most recently played host to the 2016-17 Men’s and Women’s Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. Georgia Tech has hosted a total of five ACC Championships as well as hosting the Conference USA Championships in 2014, 2016 and 2017.
The aquatic center, located on the west side of the Georgia Tech campus was the site of the swimming and diving competition for the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games. It was named the “best collegiate competition swimming pool” by College Ranker in March 2016.
