Jackets Serve as Grand Marshals for Georgia Special Olympics

COBB COUNTY, Ga. – Georgia Tech volleyball kicked off the Georgia Special Olympics 2018 State Indoor Winter Games as the grand marshals of the opening ceremony on Friday evening at the Cobb Civic Center.

“We are so excited and honored to be invited to be a part of the Special Olympics,” said junior middle blocker Lauren Frerking. “The participants are such an inspiration to us all and we’re so grateful for this experience.”

The Yellow Jackets led the athletes in the opening ceremony to start the three day competition. The 2,800 athletes and coaches will compete in basketball, bowling, floor hockey, artistic gymnastics and powerlifting over the course of the three days.
