TOP STORYLINES

• Georgia Tech baseball is coming off a big weekend in which it downed then-No. 13 Florida State and will look to keep momentum when it concludes its five-game homestand by hosting Georgia State on Tuesday, April 12.

• The matchup marks the 83rd meeting between the two programs since 1971, with Georgia Tech leading the series 70-12.

• The two teams met previously this year and battled in a 4-2 pitchers’ duel at Georgia State.

• Finally back at 100 percent healthy, the Jackets were unstoppable at the plate last weekend and continue to be one of the top offenses in the nation, currently ranked No. 2 in the country with 397 hits on the year.

• Tech also ranks second in average (.327), fourth in runs (317), sixth in homers (59), fifth in slugging (.545) and eighth in scoring (9.6). They also rank ninth in on-base percentage (.423).

• Kevin Parada has been a force at the plate, being named National Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week after he had nine hits and four home runs in four games.

• Parada is the nation’s co-leader in home runs at 15 and nation’s sole leader in total bases at 109, while also ranking fourth in RBI (50), sixth in hits (55) and runs (44) and 22nd in slugging percentage (.773).

• Also red-hot at the plate are Chandler Simpson (.494) Andrew Jenkins (.397), Tim Borden II (.340), Tres Gonzalez (.333), Drew Compton (.293) and Jake DeLeo (.283).

• Georgia Tech has shored up its middle infield with the insertion of Jadyn Jackson at shortstop.

• Since entering the lineup on April 1 at UVA, Jackson has a six-game hitting streak and is hitting .303 on the season.

• Last week, Georgia Tech’s pitching staff was terrific, recording a team ERA of 2.75 overall, striking out 42 overall in 36 innings over the four games.

• Against FSU, Georgia Tech’s pitching staff held a 2.33 team ERA, striking out 34 hitters over the three games.

• Georgia Tech currently owns the No. 3 strength of schedule in the country (.611) behind only Dallas Baptist (.643) and Oklahoma (.614). Tech’s opponents thus far have an combined win percentage of .648.

• The next closest ACC teams in SOS are No. 6 Florida State (.596), No. 17 Duke (.569), No. 19 Miami (.568), No. 22 North Carolina (.564) and No. 27 Notre Dame (.562).
